Caldwell 5 (NGC 342) is a spiral galaxy located within the constellation Camelopardalis.

C5 is best viewed during Winter, is magnitude 9.2*, and can be viewed with large binoculars. It is 18 x 17' in size. For reference, the full moon is 30' (arc minutes) in size.
